Our Story

The Gathering tree, of rumors or gossip by the old timers, was told to be the first hideaway for two love bandits. It is said that Bonnie & Clyde's first hideaway in 1930 after Bonnie helped Clyde escape McLennan County Jail, was on Chisholm trail under a big oak tree now known as The Gathering Tree.

History shows our 500-year-old oak tree to be a location on the Chisholm trail where the pioneers and settlers rested when the west was won. When ranches were staked and claimed, this land became the Granger ranch where its decedents joined hands and married among family and friends under this oak tree. A tradition, now open to the public, we would like for you to join hands and marry among family and friends under The Gathering Tree.

We are customizable and allow for outside vendors to make your day as special as you. The Gathering Tree Venue offers a thirty-two hundred square foot, climate-controlled, pavilion tent showing a 360-degree view of nature through clear walls. The pavilion tent is used for rehearsal dinners and as the reception hall for your big day. We provide white cushion garden chairs for the ceremony and inside the pavilion tent, we have round tables surrounded by banquet hall chairs and a small stage that can be utilized for a band, DJ, or a small dance floor for the Bride and Groom.

Prior to the ceremony, we provide the Bride with a bridal suite and the Groom with a grooms lounge to prepare for the big moment.
